Nigerian Government changes name of twitter handle

The Nigerian Government has notified the public of the change in name of its twitter handle effective today, Thursday, 15th of August. The name was changed from @AsoRock to @NigeriaGov. Disclosing the reason for this, the Government tweeted;

“NOTIFICATION: Twitter Handle Change | From @AsoRock to @NigeriaGov, to more accurately reflect the fact that this handle represents, and exists on behalf of, the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
